I’ve always wanted a Big Bore “Guide Gun” so when I saw the crazy good deal from GPD I had to jump on it. I was a lil nervous about it being a Marlin and their semi recent QC issues but As far as my rifle goes, it’s just as nice as my 1979 model 1894 357/38sp. This is a beautiful firearm, the fit/finish, wood grain, the smooth action and its accuracy. From 50yrds to 100yrds 5 shot groups is literally one big jagged hole, Thats with using a Leupold VX2 1-4x optic and Hornady 325Gr FTX off a sandbag and bench. I found if you want to have “fun” shooting this rifle you might want to stick to the ol 405gr stuff and shoot off hand. The Hornady stuff is accurate but it’s HOT and not fun from a bench. Hopefully the review helps anyone on the fence about buying a modern Marlin Levergun. I’m extremely happy with this rifle and it will stay in my family for years to come. GPD has some of the best deals on line, I bought a few in the last couple years and all have been shipped fast and CS has responded quickly with any questions I’ve had. I highly recommend this rifle and GPD!
